The Foundations Development Directorate (FDD) at Sabancı University is seeking a professional teaching assistant for an introductory level science course for freshman students. The course is offered in a student-centered format, where all in-class components take place in an active, collaborative learning environment. The contents of the course emphasize scientific critical thinking and scientific literacy discussed through four modules, in which the students probe four open scientific questions closely related to our daily life, using basic scientific concepts from physics, chemistry and biology. The candidate must hold a Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degree in natural sciences, with a strong interest in science education. Priority will be given to candidates with a degree in Physics or closely related interdisciplinary fields. Proficiency in English (speaking and writing) is required. Candidates are expected to have excellent coordination and organizational skills as well as commitment to teamwork. The position has started once all hiring requirements have been fullfilled (at the beginning of the 2026-2027 Academic year) with a minimum working duration of four months right after.

The position involves (but not limited to) the following responsibilities:
- Attend and help organization of orientation and training sessions for teaching assistants (TAs)
- Lead TA meetings (weekly)
- Facilitate problem-solving sessions (weekly)
- Help with the exam organization, proctoring, and grading
- Exam proctoring
- Exam grading
